With the increase of working frequency and the augment of transmission speed in power system and high-speed circuit and microwave circuit, constant parameter models can not describe accurately transmission lines in practice, so the electromagnetic transient simulation requires to consider their frequency dependent character. On the base of some frequency dependent models existed, management ways for transmission lines are analyzed. An all-purpose model for frequency dependent transmission lines has been acquired in the paper via fitting characteristic admittance and propagation constant by vector fitting combined phase and modal calculation. At the same time, recursive convolution has been predigested the calculation. The equivalent model in the paper has been applied to practical circuits. At last, the correctness and validity has been validated in MATALB program and EMTP software.
