This paper centres on the setting-up and visualization of the stratum three-dimensional model of exploiting field, it divides the three-dimensional stratum model into the rock stratum model and fault model, according to the current situation and condition of the colliery of our country, we adopt the multi-layer contour method to build the model, propose a new modeling method of dividing fault into several, then form each layer model seperately. When construct to the floor and roof of the rock stratum again, have put forward the attribute value concept of points, compose one attribute value to every point, connect points according to attribute value. And the system has applied in Lu An mineral bureau , utilize VB and OpenGL to develop the visual system, has realized the following function: the three-dimensional stratum visual display of any angle, packing the stratum , line frame showing , subdivisions ,single layer showing .showing a stratum in a certain area ,etc.
