The Method Of Performance Evaluation For Korean Character Recognition System Based On Complexity

This paper discusses the evaluation guide lines of character recognition and analyses the shortcomings of them. A new method of measuring the ability of Korean character recognition results is proposed. This measure rises the recognition difficulty of samples as a significant factor for the performance's evaluation, analyses the influence which brought by the complexity and identification ratio for the performance's evaluation of identification; combines two to evaluate the recognition performance roundly. The recognition difficulty and the complexity are combined as a comprehensive criterion to method the performance evaluation. Results of experimentation show the validity and feasibility of the method.
