The Design And Realization Of A Intelligent Meta-Search Engine For Chemical Industry

Modern science and technology has taken people into an information-exploded times which never comes. With the rapid development of information, it is very difficult for people to locate the information they need on network. As a result, it has made the high-speed improvement of Information Retrieval (IR) technology. But the average precision of numerous famous Search Engines is so low at present, especially in some domain. So if people want to get more comprehensive, veracious retrieved information, he must take lots of Search Engines for searching. That the Meta-Search engine system has been designed and realized resolves this problem in some way.In the beginning of 1980s, the research of database for chemical matter's property was started in our country. From 1982, a lot of projects were listed in "six-five" plan of chemical industry department. In 1990s, with the improvement of chemical technology, researchers raised more and more requests for database system of chemical matter's property. But many database systems which we have developed were based on traditional database theory and technology, which are not settle for the request of development. So we must be with an eye to the research of Information retrieval (IR) in face of rapid improvement of Information. This paper is aim at the needs of chemical industry to design and realize a intelligent meta-search engine system.At first, the paper analyzes the base theories of information retrieval technology, it emphasizes particularly on presentation of traditional search engine, especially which used in chemical field. Then, the paper is with a view to the research in framework and principle of meta-search engine and pivotal technology used in realization, including database choosing, text choosing and results integration. It analyzes thoroughly the methods and algorithms which used in realization then compares them each other. On this base, we bring forward the algorithms we used in paper. At last, we realized the meta-search system and innovate in part.
