Now we are in an information era, in which information is important resource for society development. A reliable solution for enterprise IT is the key for enterprise to win the world new economic competition, which should lie on different platforms and data centers.Enterprise information system architecture has changed remarkably: two-tie application architecture, three-tie application architecture, N-tie application architecture based components.Two-tie application architecture, i.e. client/server architecture, is designed for LAN or Intranet, which provides services for some fixed applications and data desires. With software complication, the client in two-tie application can not take on heavier and heavier burden, therefore business logic is suggested be independent and become a new tie. This architecture is three-tie architecture. With the further development, the applications running in business logic tie are developed to special ones, called application servers that are called by client and implement some function. In a LAN or Intranet there may be more than one application servers, so N-tie architecture, distributed computing, appears. The basis of distributed computing is component, so this type of N-tie architecture iscalled N-tie architecture based component.The project implements distributed sales management system by EJB architecture, which is a part of MIS based GMP of Shenzhen Zhonglian Pharmacy Lt. Co. The project is the first attempt of practice of N-tie architecture. The system implements bargain between the company and agents in all country. It accords with requirements of e-business by distributed ability, concurrency, security of EJB. On December 7th 2001 Shenzhen Science & Technology Bureau presides the appraisal of the project. The appraise committee agree on that the project in the highest flight of China pharmacy industry on MIS based GMP, which is worth being popularized in pharmacy industry.The more important is the production of the project is abstract model. In MIS development model is a necessary tool. The project can be developed to prototype for next system, which just realize the advantage of N-tie architecture base component, "plug & play".
