| By combining computer networking, multimedia, artificial intelligence and other advanced technology, modern distance education constructs a network-based virtual education environment. It exceeds the resource limitation in traditional teaching mode, such as teachers, teaching materials, experimental equipments and so on. At the limited scale of education resource, it provides a way to achieve a more scalable education ability, and overcomes the shortcomings in the traditional mode of education, such as the rigid teaching scheduling, limited teaching methods, and the hardness to care the differences and personalities of the students. And the educational quality will be improved as well. CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work) is a technology that supports setting up modern distance education. ICAI (Intelligent Computer Aided Instruction) is a model of distance education that combines the technology of artificial intelligence and CAI. Based on the theories and technologies above, we implement a distance-education-oriented CSCW and ICAI application system, which is called Research And Implementation of Intelligent Network-Based Multimedia Learning Environment and Software Library.This article first discusses distance education and some CSCW related information, including the developing history, the background, and the architecture. The key technologies of CSCW, such as the collaborative model, awareness and concurrency control strategy are also given. The characters and prospects of ICAI are discussed as well. Then, based on the background of Research And Implementation of Intelligent Network-Based Multimedia Learning Environment and Software Library, the application and the functional modules related to these technologies are illustrated. This article describes the function and implementation of the intelligent navigation learning system in detail. It also describes the functional module of virtual laboratory and courseware making tools. And it concretely analyzes the virtual classroom model, which is oriented to the teaching application. This article also discusses the real-time multimedia tools, and introduces the process of multimedia collection by VFW, MPEG-4 encoding arithmetic, and multicast-tunneling technique. How to eliminate noise and the audio enhancement technologies are also proposed, especially the analyzing of the character of audio and frequency subtraction for eliminating noise. Finally, this article concludes the technologies and prospects of the application of intelligent network multimedia teaching. |
