Research Of Domain Security Services Using S/MIME And Mail Transport Agent Design And Implementation

Email is one of the earliest network applications, and also one of the most popular applications. As the application of email is quickly increased on Internet, people use it to process a lot of business, and many important business rely on email. So people request a more security solution of email. PGP and S/MIME are two applied standards of email. They are based on the theory of computer and network security, using the new technology on email process and provide a security service to end-users, include data integrity, confidentiality, and authentication.Both PGP and S/MIME are aimed at end-users. When using it in a intranet, it will cause some security problems, such as searching for prohibited words and virus scanning. Domain security servicese using S/MIME is a new mechanism to provide message security services at the level of a domain or an organization.This thesis is a result of researching domain security service using S/MIME. It describes the function, principle, structure and application of domain security service. At last it implements a mail transport agent support domain security service.
