More and more families use Internet, network safety became the question which most Internet users care. Most Internet users select firewall to strengthen their network safety.This text defines the development, function, theory and limit of firewall, puts forward the main direction of development of firewall and dissertates the personal firewall. Based on RadHat6.1 which is one of UNIX operation system, use the system management tools ipchains to create a personal firewall. The personal firewall has the basic functions to define the attacks from Internet and refuses the service which has not clear permission. The text analyses and studies Trojan Horse, uses VB to realize the Binghe Horse and discusses how to hide, recovery and uninstall the Binghe Horse.In the LAN which covers one family, use one computer as the server to run UNIX operation system. The server can be stationed lower than the other computers of the family but it will not lower the speed of the data between the others and Internet. On the server create a personal firewall to protect and control the WAN. It is the direction of more and more family to use several computer.
