The role that the device monitoring and maintenance system acts on assuring the smooth production and improving the competitive ability of an enterprise is becoming more and more important. However, the shortcoming of the traditional device monitoring and maintenance system is appearing with the deepening of its application due to the weakness of the structure and implementation. Many problems exist in the system's development, maintenance and upgrade. It is very urgent to introduce new integral analytical techniques and technical approaches into the present systems. Therefore, utilizing the rising software technology in the device monitoring and maintenance system is very practical.Based on the analysis of the necessity and feasibility of applying the component software technology in the device monitoring and maintenance system, the conceptional model and implementation framework of the networked device monitoring and maintenance system based on component are proposed. Then this paper discusses the component technology and the binary reuse principle of the software based on COM, as well as the technical architecture characteristics of COM. In addition, the advantages of the component interface, namely, the high reliability, consistence, stability and persistence, are investigated from the point of the software's interoperability. On the basis of the contrastive analysis of non-state-based component implementation and state-base component implementation, the system components' implementing scheme is proposed, which combines aggregating component with state component, and their logical relation is established too.Then, the development process of the prototype system is presented based on the theoretical analysis and study above. The functional requirements and interface specifications of three components on the business logical level, including the network communication and configuration component, the data recognition and correction component and the device monitoring and management component, are described in detail. The network communication and configuration component is helpful to construct conveniently the distributed monitoring and maintenance system. The correction engine and formula editor are adopted in the data recognition and correction component. Thus, the industrial applicability of the prototype system can be improved greatly. Through the detailed study of the E-mail sending process, the function of sending E-mail is implemented fully in the device monitoring and management component. The service interface is developed and the detailed realization is capsulated in c++ class. The reliability of the component is proved by practices.Finally, the security demand of the prototype system is studied, and the different strategies and approaches are brought forward according to the different requirements. All these provide the convincing references for the security research of the device monitoring and maintenance system under the distributed environment.
