With the development of the Network Technology, the Embedded System Technology and the Computer Technology, more and more people are concerning about how to employ these advanced technology into the field of industry which needs the more powerful and steady system. A case in the point is civil engineering, in which field users' demands is increasing constantly and rapidly, they demand more convenient service, more accurate data more advantage transmission and so on. In the contrast the present monitoring systems is out of date. By analysing the current actual conditions of the industry monitoring field, the Local Communication-Protocol-Switch System (CPS), introduced in this paper, is designed and realized for the actual project demands. The major aim of this paper is to apply the Network Technology and the Video Technology to the industry monitoring system, updating the existing systems by connecting to CPS through communication interface, such as RS232, USB and SPI.CPS adopts the SAMSUNG S3C2410 as the hardware core and the embedded linux as the operating system. The system is divided into 4 parts: 1 .hardware system of CPS design, it mainly focuses on circuit diagram design; 2.software system of CPS design, it mainly focuses on cutting down the embedded linux, and programming the bootloader and some drivers; 3. Ad hoc design, the mager aim of this part is to build the blue teeth Ad hoc network between some CPSs employing the blue teeth module and the route protocol designed independenly; 4.application software system, this part includes the design of main frame, communication and video. This article introduces the design of the system frame and components in detail. In CPS, many advanced technologies are adopted, such as Embedded System Technology, TCP/IP Transfer Technology, Multimedia Technology and Ad hoc Netware Technology, which are introduced later in this paper. CPS realizes the transmission between the TCP/IP and RS232, which is usually used in SPI, and has the potencial ability to transfer the video when the network load is allowed. Besides it realizes the blue teeth Ad hoc wireless network, and tests it with the equitments and resources available.CPS is not only an application and research to use the Multimedia Technology and Network Technology, but also an exploring to Ad hoc Wireless Network Technology.
