Compared with some famous trans-corporations, domestic manufacturingenterprises of construction machinery have some problems in the process of newproduct developments (e.g., deficient independent innovation ability, longdevelopment cycle, high costs and etc). These problems can mainly be ascribed tooutdated design concept and a lack of an effective and suitable design tools. Aided bynational Hi-Tech technology project (863) and the Hi-Tech project of Jiangsuprovince, and based on a sufficient investigation and research on the demands of theenterprises, our team had developed completely a rapid design system for constructionmachinery products with advanced design theory and 3D CAD technologies. As animportant component of the above studies, the thesis has finished as followings: Firstly, rapid product development methods and technologies were summarized,and domestic actuality and trend of construction machinery product design wereanalyzed, and a design method based on CBR (case based reasoning) was put forwardto apply to construction machinery products design. Secondly, according to thecharacteristics of construction machinery products, principle and key technologies ofCBR were studied, including the design process based on CBR, andexpression/retrieve/revise of cases and etc. Thirdly, through constructed extendedobject model, expression and storage of full information of construction machineryproduct cases were realized, and according to a hierarchy tree index based onassemble, a case database of the products was built. Then, the searching methods ofconstruction machinery product cases and its reasoning algorithm are emphasized inthe thesis, and an algorithm was brought forward, which could give a satisfying resultas calculating the similitude among basic data type, compound data type and caseobjects based on assemble constraints. Finally, according to the results above, a rapiddesign prototype system based on CBR for construction machinery was developedcompletely on CAXA solid platform, and it has been applied to concrete pavingmachine design in Zhenjiang Huachen Huatong Road Machinery Co, Ltd. The systemnot only passed a third party software test, but also rewarded in practice asanticipated.
