With the fast development of the Embedded and network technology, Embedded communication network devices such as PDAs, smart phones and mobile phones etc, have become more and more popular. However, because of the enlargement of the application requirements, the questions draw much more attentions on how to improve the interoperability, opening ability and compatibility between the embedded network communication devices. It has become a hotspot for researching in the embedded communication field.This thesis discusses the interoperability, the compatibility and the extensibility of the embedded devices in the network. It also provides a new solution to the multi-communication operations in the embedded devices. This thesis imports SIP into the embedded system. Being simple, easy to realize, and suitable of the wide-area network, SIP has drawn more and more attentions and played a much more important role in the next generation network (NGN). This thesis primarily does some research on how to make use of the flexibility and extensibility of SIP into the embedded system.The main research work and innovations of this thesis are as follow. First, analyze how to import SIP's services into the embedded system in order to enhance the interoperability, opening ability between the devices. Secondly, analyze the theoretic characteristics of using SIP in the embedded system. Lastly, based on the work mentioned above, implement a typical application of how to use SIP in the embedded system —IP Telephone Terminal Demo.This thesis analyzes the difficulties when SIP is imported into the embedded system and brings forward a solution of how to design and develop SIP application system in the embedded environment, taking IP Telephone Terminal Demo based on SIP protocol for example. It also describes the design of the system structure and the development procedure from the hardware and the software points. Then according to the design of the functions and the system structure, it implements a demo of the embedded system using SIP in current experimental environment, which validates the design pattern and the development procedure. At the end of this paper, it describes the tests on the system's implementation, functions and performance, and then analyzes the test results and makes a conclusion.It is worthwhile to do the further research on importing SIP into the embedded system because ofits enormous potentials. At the end of the thesis, it describes the bright prospects of using SIP in the embedded system.
