Development And Operation Of Nuclear Fuel Element Quality Management System

Nuclear fuel element is the core component in reactor of nuclear power plant, of which the quality has a direct influence on safety and efficiency of operation in nuclear power plant. Quality control and data management shall be strictly performed during the manufacturing in order to ensure the quality of nuclear fuel element. In order to enable the manufacturing enterprise of nuclear fuel element to meet the special demands for the real time, reliability, accuracy and traceability of the total quality control and the in-process quality.From the practicality point of view, orientated toward the original data and the process flow and based on the analysis for the demand of data, this article sets up the database for fuel rod magazine and nuclear fuel element inspection and develops the friendly man-machine interface which brings about the functions such as the conversion, check, inquiry, collection and maintenance of data as well as the report printing. This system is integrated with the data gathering and real-time analysis, the status monitoring, the statistical summing-up and the generating of quality control.Successfully utilized in production of nuclear fuel elements for five different reactors, the system operates very well and very reliably, The development and application of the system is a preliminary exploration of the computer technology applied in the quality control and management in the process of nuclear fuel element manufacturing.
