| With the rapid development of Digital Television and the more popularization of set top box (STB) over all of the country,CATV HFC networks get an opportunity to develop broadly.In this paper the Internet/WWW' s shortcomings are fingered afer analyzing the "2/8 Inversion" phenomenon on information requirement over computer networks. For the one-way CATV HFC network a new architecture mode for information share called as broadcasting and storage architecture is proposed to remedy defect in point-to-point communication mode in Internet/WWW. Using the channel shere without collision under the condition that the download bitrate is high enough , the broadcasting and storage architecture does not need the upload channel to provide information shere for consumers. Consumers can automately download and store the subscribed services in STB, then select and enjoy the interest programs in browser.In point-to-point communication mode over the Internet/WWW the bandwidth is distributed to consumers to fit transfer of the personalized and cool information. And in the broadcasting and storage mode the broadcasting transfer is employed, the bandwidth is distributed to information resources. It is suitable to transmit the hot and popular information.Combining the advantages of broadcasting and storage mode andInternet/WWW mode, the concept of HFC Network Information Share System is presented, and a general planning scheme and some ideas for STB functionas development proposed. The HFC Network Information Share System can ease up the bandwideth needs, meet the consumers services on demand in multiple layers.The development of HFC Network Information Share System is a sysmatic program, including planning, software subsystem design, STB and content management development, and so on. Two simple versions have implemented and are running in Mianyang city. It shows the proposed system is reasonable.Finnaly, about the applications and influnces of the proposed sytem is also analyzed. |
