Rapid industry development requires more excellent security monitoring system in the factory. But the traditional security monitoring system such as theftproof doors can't satisfy the higher requirement increasingly. Thus it is necessary to import computer technology into this field. Virtual instruments make good use of computer technology to implement or enhance traditional instruments. Therefore, it is a good idea that we design a security monitoring system based on virtual instruments.National Instruments Corporation (NI) virtual instruments software development workbench LabVIEW has both characteristics of traditional advanced programming languages and strong engineering support. So system development based on virtual instruments technology can not only save time greatly but also enhance the efficiency and expansibility of the system. Seamless interface between system hardware and software is implemented by using NI's data acquisition card which is fully compatible with LabVIEW.According to the factory security requirements of Liaoning Zhongda Superconduction Company, this paper presents and designs the security monitoring system based on virtual instruments.The theftproof monitoring adopts double-inspection detector which is composed of pyroelectric infrared sensor and microwave sensor. And fireproof monitoring adopts temperature sensor and carbon monoxide sensor. The purpose of the front end detector adopting several kinds of sensors is to enhance the system reliability and anti-interference ability. Meanwhile dust monitoring is designed based on infrared scattering on dust. The filed analog output signals of front end detectors are converted to digital signals by NI's data acquisition card PCI-6023E. Digital signals are then processed, displayed and stored by virtual instruments software LabVIEW.The system design described in the paper is feasible and basic system functions are implemented. System under test has good reliability and maintainability, therefore lays foundation for betterment and production and provides valuable experience for the further design of factory security monitoring system.
