The measurement technology is developed from computer vision fields. An important aim of computer vision is using computer to get the images of the objects directly instead of human eyes and cerebra, and then apperceiving and explaining the objects by recognizing and processing them. In recently years, the measurement system based on image processing has been used in many fields with the development of computer technology.In this paper, the image measure technology and automatic control theory was combined to design and realize a position control system based on image processing. The image processing technology is used in the automatic control system to realize the non-touching measurement of position signal instead of the traditional position measure methods.The study task of this paper includes automatic control theory, image processing technology, computer programming and serial communication technology etc. More than one processing arithmetic are used in the image processing control system. The color segmentation method is combined with frame difference detection segmentation method to improve the veracity of moving object detection, and the searching arithmetic is optimized to reduce the processing time. Then the fuzzy controller was introduced and is used in the position control system. In this paper, the traditional PID control method is also used to compare with the fuzzy control method. The experiment proved that the image measurement technology and the control arithmetic could meet the system' s static and dynamic characteristic.
