With the development of communication technology, network technology and semiconductor technology, traditional UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) monitor control system has not adapted the requirement of modern times information systems. Human tender tastes lots of labor, things and finance. The devices distribute in the different positions, and how to manage the device becomes a problem that valued research. The managers often hope learn the state of the managed devices anytime and anywhere, so that the manager can deal with the devices in time if the devices are abnormity, and make the devices run with dependant and high efficiency. There are many flaws in the traditional managed models, for example, disable flat-form, weak of common using, unfriendly interface, implement complex, maintenance difficulty,low efficiency. It becomes an important problem how to effectively monitor UPS in long-distance, and more and more people attention it.The paper applies web and simple network management protocol technology, and researches how to networking manage the resource limited embedded device. The monitor control system mainly regards web server/browser as frame, and regards SNMP protocol and agent as the way of management. Through the authentication of manager's management purview, the system arrives the definite security demands, and resolves the problems of special using, complexity, the interface of human and machine and webbing. The system realizes open and across platform management frame. The system provides friendly and irrespective approach of remotely management of embedded devices in any time and in any place. The management model applies to the hardware platform of 8 bits and RISC single chip machine (ATmega161) provided the ethernet interface controlor and extended chips.Finaly,it is proved that the monitor and control system is cross platform , common using and user friendly. The paper analyses the function and performance UPS monitorsystem and proves the validity and the value of the system.
