Road target in SAR image is same as the ground targets such as airport, bridge, river. Nor only has it important in military affairs, but also has it important in national economy development. Road extraction of SAR image is assistant to map updating, target recognition, image matching, which is a important content in target detection. Our work is discussing and studying the road extraction arithemetic in SAR image.In chapter 1, beginning from the background of the work, it is emphasizing the introduction of the research status and development trend of the road extraction in SAR image and summarizing the whole paper's structure.In chapter 2, studying the method of edge detection in SAR image. This chapter particularly introduce RoA operator, MSP-RoA operator, Duda operator, fusing operator and LR operator, and analyze the characteristic of these methods, inspecting efficiency or problem by experiments. And studying and introducing the basic characteristic of the yawp in SAR images.In chapter 4, it embodys the harvest of studying road extraction in SAR image, bring forward two applied road extraction arithmetic in SAR image: the road extraction arithmetic based on edge detection and becline organizing, the arithmetic based on fuzzy clustering and shortest- path finding. Then validate the validity of the two methods by results of experiments and performance analysis.In chapter 5, sum up the whole paper and prospect the future work.
