Developing Of Software Based On LabVIEW For Measuring System In Ultra-Wide Band Compact Field Chamber

Antenna measuring is an important method for analysis on its performance, while Radar Cross Section (RCS) measuring has special significance in realm of research on features of target. Microwave chamber is an electromagnetic measuring environment that can mask off external interference and restrain internal multipath echoes, while compact field can simulate electromagnetic environment of far field within chamber that is fairly small. Major task of this paper is to develop software for measurement of antenna and RCS of target in Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) compact field chamber. Main work that has been completed is as follows:Analyzed factors that can put influence on precision of microwave chamber, and several conditions of feed source excursion for paraboloid reflector were studied in special, formulas of maximal permitted excursion distance were derived as a result.Basic idea and method of programming with LabVIEW were explained. Procedure of creating and invoking DLL files was summed up. Program for the controlling of a mixed-signal oscilloscope was developed.Measuring system for antenna pattern was developed based on analysis of measurement principle. Graph of system structure and diagram of measuring were drawn. Methods for controlling of sampling oscilloscope and turntable separately were brought forward. Programs for controlling of oscilloscope together with reading data from it and saving with format specified by user were written. Program of data processing and result displaying was presented. Subprograms were combined into integrated measuring system for antenna pattern in the end.Measuring programs for RCS and antenna gain were written separately, interfaces and parts of source codes of the developed software were presented.Programs developed here can be used in UWB compact field chamber, which can complete functions of corresponding measuring and drawing of curves.
