Establishment And Application Of RCM System In Changzhou Marine Cable Co.Ltd

Based on the situation of the domestic and international situation in the field of equipment maintenance and the practical status of equipment maintenance in Changzhou Marine Cable Co. Ltd where I am working, this paper studied the establishment and application of Reliability Centered Maintenance(RCM) system in the company. First of all, the production characteristics, the modes for equipment maintenance and the resulted conflicts between the production and equipment maintenance were analyzed. A proposal for introducing RCM theory into the company's equipment maintenance and establishing a new maintenance system was presented. Secondly, with 24-Ingot High Speed Braider Set, an important equipment for cable producing in the company, as an example, the working principle was explained. Based on RCM Theory, detail analyses were given on the functions of the equipment, the malfunctions in the equipment, the modes and effects of the malfunctions. The evaluations were carried out for each malfunction in the respects of its effects and prevention. The RCM Information Sheet and RCM Decision Sheet were obtained. Thirdly, Training for RCM theory was carried out among the personnel involved. New operation and maintenance rules was determined and carried out for 24-Ingot High Speed Braider Set. The effects of applying RCM system were evaluated and summarized for its running in the company. Finally, the requirements for developing maintenance information management system were presented and the developing scheme for the system was determined. With taking part in the development, the authorapplied the system into the practices of equipment and added more information to the system.The establishment and application of RCM system benefits our company a lot. The viewpoint on equipment maintenance was greatly changed and the understanding to the equipment was enhanced deeply, which makes maintenance work more standard and regular. The information management system could supply necessary RCM information and maintenance recodes to the department of equipment management, which would be very helpful in the RCM analysis, decision-making and the generation of maintenance working sheet. The achievements obtained would be important to give the guidance of further RCM applications in the company. They would be also meaningful for other companies to carry out RCM system.
