With the fast development of Internet, new applications were increased continuously; the requirement of network's real time and QoS is higher than ever. In network security system, most network devices are the network's bottleneck; when it is used in big scale network, if there haven't good traffic control, it must influence the network's performance, even make the network congestion. In this paper, combining network security, we discuss the theory and technology of traffic control, design and implement the traffic control based on DiffServ. The main contributions of this paper are as follows: 1. DiffServ and IntServ are analysed and discussed, some common queuing management algorithms are studied. 2. Because of combing input queue and output queue, data flow can be classified by some of the data packet properties'combination, such as address, mask, port number and protocol type. And so, the policy of bandwidth being distributed and managed can be designed exactly. 3. While based on DiffServ designing the traffic control system, DiffServ's functions are expanded. In Best Effort Service, system expands the range of DSCP. By classifying, traffic control system has much more functions and unites better with network security. 4. The traffic control system have Premium Services and Assured Services and Best Effort Service, it can meet different traffic control requirements. 5. Design and implement managing tools, it has simple and friend interface, make configuring the system easy, and has no wrong. 6. Using object-oriented method, because service type management and user node management were designed separately, the system has better expansibility. 7. The traffic control function was given to user node by role. 8. Because of using the hierarchical traffic control method, every layer's traffic can be controlled.
