The technology of database has been developed greatly since 80's, particularly the advent of distributed network database technology made data sharing in different areas and improved the efficiency and harmony of work.In telecommunication corporation, the distribution of company location makes distribution of data server. Though company and subordinate company distribute different areas of city, they need handle their data. At the same time, they need data exchange each other. How to deal with the distributed data and central management is a question which restricts to telecommunication corporation development. Therefore, the advent of distributed database system technology provides a probability to resolve the question. This paper mainly introduces the application of distributed database based on GIS in telecommunication circuit resource management system.Based on the circuit resource management circumstance of Daqing telecommunication commany and made full use of GIS and distributed database technology, this paper exploitates a telecommunication circuit resource management system on integrating into geography and data by Visual Basic embedding TopMap ActiveX (Component Geographical Information System). In order to realize the system data management, regarding SQL Server2000 as the backstage database, and for combining GIS space database and backstage attribute database, it puts forward the distributed system of client/server structure on every commany's site and realizes flexible and fast visit to database by ActiveX Data Objects mode. During system's exploitation, it resolved the question of data backup by program, and ensured the security and realiabity of system. It achieved the validity of integrating into geographical information and circuit data on commany server by remote data update module of system. It proved that distributed database structure can meet the need of circuit management of Daqing petroleum management bureau telecom.
