The Research On The Key Technology Of The Basal Application Of MPEG-4

The development of network technology and multimedia technology has greatly improved the communication technology of integration, digitalization, intellectualization and personalization, which makes it possible to realize integrated services of audio, data, video, and so on, on a single network platform. MPEG-4 is a very popular multimedia codec, which used in the low bit-rate transport in the network.So how to transport MPEG-4 bit-stream in the network real-time is a hotspot of research.The thesis first introduces the research background, development nowadays, the features of MPEG-4 video coding standard, principle of RTP/RTCP and the technology of DirectShow.Then it puts forward two end-to-end transport architectures based on RTP for MPEG-4 video streaming over the network and respectively studies the key technology of these two architectures.Afterwards, the thesis makes researches on the implement of DirectShow technology in developing a multimedia system.Finally, the thesis summarizes our work and points out the research direction in future.The main contributions of the thesis are: The model of video streams multiplexing is bettered and the model of the transmition of video picture mosaic on network is presented in the thesis. On the research of video streams multiplexing, an arithmetic of scheduler based on weight, an arithmetic of bit rate adjustment and a transmition scheme of multimedia streams are put forward.On the research of the transmition of video picture mosaic on network, the arithmetic of video picture mosaic is stressfully studied. According the forenamed models, two schemes of synchronization are respectively brought forward, the problems in developing a multimedia system with DirectShow technology are researched, and a video system with DirectShow technology is developed after anatomizing the principle of DirectShow.
