Simulation of the control system is an indispensable means for studying the controlsystem and is a process experiment based on the model of the system. Throughsimulation, the designers can find out the best control plan for the model. The plan isnot very effective when it's applied to the concrete system. It need be revised again andagain and even designed again. This leads to the long design period and high costs. Howto integrate simulation with testing the practical results in a platform is a difficultproblem, which needs to be solved urgently.According to the features of MATLAB toolboxes, especially the feature ofMATLAB RTW real-time toolbox that it can be used for real-time application, thisdissertation brings forward a tentative plan to realize the real-time control of the controlsystem using MATLAB. Using Hardware in Loop technology, it realizes the simulationtesting on the base that the controlled plant is simulated partly by the practical plant andpartly by the real time digital model.This dissertation carefully analyses the system construction of the two models ofsingle PC and double PC in MATLAB RTW, and decides to use MATLAB RTW realtime toolbox to build a real-time control experimental platform. Then this dissertationputs forward ways to administrate I/O card in the two models. Simulation model generatedby Simulink and downloaded to the target real-time kernel will control the control system.This dissertation designs a series of control experiments based on the three-tankwater control device, including modeling through mathematical analysis and testing.The experiments integrate the mathematical simulation and online real-time control,making the Simulink model sketch as a control station. Experimenters can concentrateon the controller design and parameters adjustment without intricate programming.Using the function of data logging, experimenters can observe the system historicaltrend to analyze the control process and tune the corresponding parameters.Experimenters themselves can design the control tactics used in the experiments. Thisprovides the experimenters chances for innovation.In the end, this dissertation validates the availability of this experimental platformthrough the water level real-time control experiment and analyzes the differencesbetween the mathematical simulation and the real-time simulation.The experimental platform is convenient for the experimenters to test again andagain by means of mathematical simulation and online real-time control to obtain thebest control tactics and parameters. It is a way to promote experimental efficient andenhance the experimenters'innovation ability. Although the performance of theplatform need to be further optimized,in the wake of developments in the software andhardware technology, the platform will contribute to the development of laboratory.
