| Objective Observe the effectiveness and safety of buried needles combined with Chinese medicine treatment on Tourette Syndrome, in order to find a more convenient and efficient, more safe and novel therapeutic methods of TS.Methods From the children with Tourette Syndrome in Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Oriental Hospital pediatric clinic, select 60 patients who meet the standards, their guardian wishes premise, divided into buried needles combined with Chinese medicine and single Chinese medicine groups,30 cases each. The buried needles combined with Chinese medicine group were treated with buried needles combined with Chinese medicine treatment methods. Buried the needle once a week, oral Chinese medicine simultaneously, one dose a day. The single Chinese medicine group used a single method of Chinese medicine treatment, just oral Chinese medicine, one dose a day.5 weeks for a course of treatment in both groups 2 courses. Observation the YGTSS scores of the two groups of patients before and after one course of treatment, two courses of treatment, and calculate the efficiency using the statistical software SPSS20.0 for statistical analysis. Results The study included 60 patients, none fell off. 30 cases in buried needles combined with Chinese medicine group,30 cases in single Chinese medicine group.30 cases of buried needles combined with Chinese medicine group, which recovered 3 cases were cured (10.0%),19 cases markedly effective (63.3%) 7cases effective (23.3%),1 case ineffective (3.3%), the effective rate was 96.7%, markedly effective rate of 73.3%. Single Chinese medicine group of 30 patients recovered in 1 case were cured (3.3%),10 cases markedly effective (33.3%),16 cases effective (53.3%),3 cases ineffective (10.0%), efficiency rate of 90.0%, markedly effective rate of 36.7%. After two courses, the markedly effective rate of the two groups was significant differences (P<0.01), the buried needles combined with Chinese medicine group was significantly higher. The efficiency of the two groups was no significant difference (P> 0.05).About YGTSS total score, a course of treatment, both groups compared with before treatment was significantly lower (P<0.01). No significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). After two courses, two groups after treatment compared with before treatment was significantly lower (P<0.01). No significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). After two courses, both groups decreased significantly, when compared with one couse treatment (P<0.01).For motor tics score, after a course of treatment, two motor tics rates than before treatment were significantly lower, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). No significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). After two courses, two motor tics score was significantly reduced compared with before treatment, there is statistically significant (P<0.01). After two courses, motor tics rates between the two groups were statistically difference (P<0.05). Compared with a course of treatment, the buried needles combined with Chinese medicine group after two courses of motor tics score was significantly lower, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01), the single Chinese medicine group was not statistically significant (P> 0.05).For vocal tic score, after a course of treatment, the buried needles combined with Chinese medicine group compared with the vocal score was significantly reduced, with statistical significance (P<0.01), the single Chinese medicine group were more than before treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). There was significant difference compared between the two groups (P<0.05). After two courses of treatment, the buried needles combined with Chinese medicine group was significantly reduced compared with before treatment, the statistics showed significant difference (P<0.01), compared with before treatment the single Chinese medicine group did not change significantly (P> 0.05). Between the two groups after two courses, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After two courses when compared with a course, the two groups were significantly lower, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).About overall harm score, after a course of treatment, compared with before treatment the two groups relatively decreased significantly (P<0.01). No significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). After two courses, compared with before treatment were significantly lower (P<0.01). There was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05). After two courses, the two groups was significantly lower than one course treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion Through the observation of the 60 children with TS, we found buried needles combined with traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment was significantly higher in markedly effective rate than the Chinese medicine alone, and the long time treatment is better than the short one. In addition, buried needles with Chinese medicine can better reduce the children’s motor tic and vocal tic score. So in the future treatment of children with Tourette Syndrome, buried needles combined with Chinese medicine can be used as a new treatment method for choosing. |
