[Background]During celebrating the 125th anniversary,"SCIENCE" put forward 125 most challenging scientific problems.The 76th is:Can cancers be controlled rather than cured? The surgeon is generally believed that radical surgery is still the only possible cured treatment of early lung cancer patients.For advanced lung cancer, to control the development of cancer,which means to turn cancer into chronic disease is a trend.Since introduced in our country, cryosurgery has been carried out widely in clinical practice and achieve good reputation. The relationship between the basic theory of TCM and modern technology is becoming more and more close.But there is a blind territory in how to use the traditional Chinese medicine theory to guide the cryosurgery for control treatment.[Objective]By observing the different survival time for different ice hockey overage,discover the relationship between the basic theory of TCM and the cryosurgery so as to provide the best control treatment strategy for patients with advanced lung cancer.[Methods]74 advanced lung cancer patience who accept cryosurgery therapy during January 2013 to March 2015 in oncology department,Dongfang hospital,were enrolled in this study.By recording the general basic information, image information during operation, patients postoperative survival time and adverse reactions, find how the different ice hockey coverages benefit patients.[Results]1. General description:For the total 74 patients,the median survival time was 8.4 months, while the group of ice hockey coverage<70% is 8.6 months,and the group of ice hockey coverage≥70% is 8.3 months.There were no significant differences between the two groups (P=0.325> 0.05).Putted age,gender,tumor size,location, pathologic type,TNM stage into COX Regression Model (P=0.035<0.05),the layer depended on ice hockey coverage,take thesurvival curve when the covariate was averaged.After comprehensive multi-factor,the group of ice hockey coverage<70% got longer median survival time.2. Detail description2.1 Survival statistics of 12 cases of tumor diameter< 3 cmThe median survival time of 12 cases of tumor diameter< 3 cm is 20.533 months,longer than the 8.4 months of total 74 cases.2.2 Statistics of edge significantlyThe groups of ice hockey coverage<70% had longer median survival time than the group of ice hockey coverage>70% in tumor diameter of 3-5 cm,squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma carcinoma(P=0.086,0.071,0.102≈0.1).For small cell lung cancer,the group of ice hockey coverage≥70% had longer median survival time (P=0.073).2.3 Statistics of no significantlyMay be due to the less sample size and other factors,there was no significantly between the two group in tumor diameter 5 to 7 cm,≥7 cm location,TNM stage.2.4 Statistics of adverse reactionsThe groups of<70% had lower rate in pain, fever, hemoptysis, chest drainage while higher in cough, pneumothorax. All the adverse reactions were disappeared in 2 weeks.[Conclusion]1. General description:The groups of<70% playde a better result in the control of disease.2.In details:The group of tumor diameter< 3 cm had a high ice hockey coverage;The groups of ice hockey coverage<70% had longer median survival time than the group of ice hockey coverage≥70% in tumor diameter of 3-5 cm,squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma carcinoma.For small cell lung cancer,the result was opposite;For safety, the groups of ice hockey coverage<70% was much safer than the group of ice hockey coverage≥70%.3.The basic theory of TCM emphasizes the dialectical treatment, it was the same to cryosurgery relyed on the basic theory of TCM.The treatment which can control desease and prolong life time should depend on one’s Zheng-Qi,pathogenic qi,patient’s condition,shield and so on.
