| This article reviews the origins, the theories, indexes and classify of Healthy Life Expectancy in recent years. Based on the data of National Bureau of Statistics and the China Health and China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHALRS), using Sullivan method, selecting this indicators:disease-free healthy life expectancy; disability-free life expectancy; life expectancy in perceived health, calculate the life expectancy of the age of 60 or older, and evaluation the health status of the elderly healthy life expectancy by the results.The results show:disease-free healthy life expectancy of the elderly of 60-64 is 3.2 years, accounted for 26.7% of their life expectancy, the male’s disease-free LE is slightly higher than the female. With age growing, the elderly healthy life expectancy showed a clear downward trend.
