A Study On The Framework Of Theoretical System Of Orthopedic Bone Massage In Ancient Chinese Medicine

Purpose:To provide reference for the foundation of bone-setting therapy’s theory based on three aspects including the modern studies on bone-setting, modern studies on theoretical framework and related research on terminology, and to analyze the feasibility as well as the necessity of frame foundation on bone-sitting theory.Methods:The literature recorded ancient bone-setting therapy or related operation technique from pre-qin times to the republic of China period had been searched. Among which the paper documents were mainly the existing literature in the library of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the electronic documents were mainly the literature embodied in "Chinese Medical Classics".8 paper literatures had been confirmed after retrieval:"A Handbook of Prescription for Emergencies", "General Treaties on the Causes and Syndromes of Diseases", "Qian Jin Yi Fang", "Secret Formulary for Traumatology and Fracture Taught by Immortal", "Yi Shuo", "Holy Benevolence", "Shi Yi De Xiao Fang", "Golden Mirror of Medicine". The related sentence groups on bone-setting had been extracted and input into computer to reserve. The relevant information such as titles, authors, formation ages, chapters, edition numbers in these sentence groups had been recorded. And the principle of word segmentation had been established, the results had been selected. Meanwhile, segmented the words based on the understanding word segmentation method; and the intentions of words had been marked, which was easy to be classified. The same words or phrases with same meaning had been combined, while some insignificant words or phrases had been rejected. Filled words into the established tree structure and examined the rationality as well as compatibility of this theory’s frame.Results:1. The frame structure of bone-setting theory has been preliminarily formed via improving the databases, including four aspects the basis theory, diagnosis, prescription, and operation.2. The framework system of related theories on bone such as skeleton structure, disease names, symptoms of five viscera, Jin as important as Bone has been established.3. The framework of bone-setting theory as been found.4. The framework of instrument theory for bone-setting has been established.5. The framework of prescription for bone-setting has been found.Conclusions:1. In the ancient literature, the principle of "Jin as Important as Bone" has been widely used.2. The framework of basis theory, diagnosis, prescription and operation has been established via studying on the ancient tuina literature which is different from that in traditional literature.
