| In this pape, basing on a wide range of classical literature record,I use the double evidence method to have a deeply study of the medicine man culture in pre-Qin period. With some scattered historical documentary record and valuable archaeological materials, I have detailed analysis of the culture connotation of medicine men,the evolution track of sorcery culture in pre-Qin period from homology to separation, and study the basic method and cultural activities of the medicine men in pre-Qin period.During the study, according to the time background of the pre-Qin period,In a literature perspective, systematically analyse and explore the medicine men in pre-Qin period. In chapter 1,by studying the Chinese character witch,I research the the special position of medicine men and sorcery in Chinese culture. Primitive religion and the backward productivity led to the appearance of the the wizard group who could connect human with the heaven and the hell. At that time they took the responsibility of sacrificial rites, divination and cure of diseases, who was an important force to promote the development of the society. And witch also has important on the development of literature. In chapter 2,according to the historical documentary records,I research the relationship between wizard and doctor and generally outline the developing process of the medicine man. The medicine men were homologous before the Western Zhou Dynasty. But in the Western Zhou Dynasty, professional doctors were appointed, which finally led to the separation of wizard and doctor. Since then, doctors had been developed by building systermatic and scientific medicine system. While medicine men gradually declined because of the concept of ghost worship. Literary classics also have a lot of vivid group "witch doctor" image, through the changes of their functions, we also can see the development of doctor and witch doctor’s relationship changes. The third chapter explores the pre-Qin medicine men’s cognition to the pathology and their treatments. pre-Qin medicine men had strong primitive religious perception on pathogenic factors and they often thought disease were caused by ghosts, gods, climates and wars. Therefore their diagnostic methods were superstitious and scientific, which had had a long history and contributed to the medicine development of ancient China especially pre-Qin peoried. |
