On The Decorative Factors In Modern Painting

It is an indispensable factor promoting History of Art that the pursuit of beauty has firmly connected decoration and art. More or less, the trace of decoration exists in various forms of art, which is more obvious in modern painting. This paper begins with the origin and development of Decoration Art, introducing the application of decorative elements in painting, making further analysis on the artistic expression, seeking conscious content of decorative elements and individualized language of representative space. The ideas and value of decorative elements are not only about acceptance and application, but also developing our awareness and creativity, which is more on spiritual connotation. Consequently, unearthing cultural connotation of decorative elements in paintings has much more significance than creating new visual form of aesthetic.
