Equipment And Equipment Manual Translation Practice Report

English-language translations of safety and usage instructions for machinery andequipment are becoming more and more commonplace. Therefore, the quality of suchtranslations is very important.This thesis uses the translation task which was entrusted by Key Laboratory ofPhotoelectrons of Heilongjiang Institute of Technology as a researching case. The taskis to translate the instruction manual for imported laser equipment. This thesis willbegin with the textual characteristics of English-language instructions for machineryand equipment, and will analyze the problems that were come across during thetranslation process guided by the theory of parallel text. Finally, this paper willsummarize the approach to translating English-language instruction manuals anddiscuss the standards of a good translation of this type of text.
