A Study On The Variation Of Microblogging Language From The Perspective

Microblog is characterized with the original transmission mechanism and unique text requirements,moreover, its characteristics determines its own unique personality. Meme is the unit of transmitting cultural information and it plays a very important role in the process of language development. Meme benefits the language development, and it gets replication and transmission by language. From the Memetic perspective, this thesis will study on the Microblog language variation. Intended to reveal the justifications of a variety of variation phenomenon in microblog language from the perspective of memetics. Memetics provides a new way for the research on the Microblog language variation. Besides the introduction and conclusion, there are three chapters in this thesis:Chapter one:Microblog language variation and memetics. Based on memetics, explores language is an important carrier of memes propagate,meme’s reproduction and propagation also promote the language produce variation. On this basis, describes the dialectical relationship between language variation and memes:variability driven by the meme’s reproduction and propagation, meme highlight the characteristic of variation. And under the guidance of memetics, identified the ascription of microblog language variation meme,is a strong language meme but need takes time to verify. Some easy to understand, simple and economical, fashionable meme are easily cause host’s concern,enter the process of meme’s reproduction and propagation, so widely imitated, copied, transmitted, become a strong meme.Chapter two:The type of Microblog language variation. This part is the main part of the thesis. According to He Ziran proposed two propagation modes:memetic genotype and memetic phenotype as well as Geoffrey Leech’s eight language variation modes. Combined meme reproduction and propagation mode with language variation way, established the type of microblog language variation meme. There are phonological variation meme, lexical variation meme, grammatical variation meme and non-text symbol variation meme. Combined examples of microblog to explore. Genotype of phonological variation meme through euphony of Chinese characters, numbers and letters as well as reduplicated way to achieve consistency with the original meme semantics. In the role of language meme, analogy mechanisms and economic mechanisms of language internal are the linguistic factors of variation. The conspicuous changes of communicative environment, the potential demands of communicators and the flexible changes of oral communication and some other factors as well as language mechanisms lead to the language variation jointly.
