Yinqing, a famous level-one composer in our country, who has been engaged in composingfor more than40years, has composed thousands of works, over one hundred of which wonprizes in national competitions, including songs, musical and dance dramas. He is famous for hismusical works, such as these well-known ones, Walking into the New Century, Singing in theWestern, Reed Catkins, and Road to the Heaven. These works are beloved and popular, whichmade him the King of Music in modern time. With some native factors in his works, his worksabout military and politic are more affective, and fashionable, which shows our national musicalculture. According to his achievement in composing and developing the music art, this thesis ismuch more practical in studying the composing character and singing analysis.Chapter one briefly introduces Yinqing’s life and composing experiences. It analyzesYinqing’s works and draws a conclusion that most of his works are closely connected with thetime and events during that time. It’s why his works are so popular with listeners. This chapterreviews the experience of his creation by comparing his works in different times. It tellsYinqing’s great contribution to the development of music art. This is why this thesis was written.Chapter two is the conclusion from the analysis of Yinqing’s works. It came out in three differentways. Times, nationality and expressions. This chapter gives three examples in each part toexplain these characteristics, to make these works more easy to understand for listeners. Chapterthree analyzes the way of singing including breathing, pronunciation, voice speed. With theexample of Love for the Motherland, it brings a clear feeling about main idea in Yingqing’sworks. It helped the singers to express Yinqing’s emotion to listeners more clearly.
