This thesis is composed of two parts:Translation and Comment. The translation part focuses on the E-C translation practice of Mitch Albom’s latest novel The Time Keeper. The comment discusses the handling and transferring of "style" in novel translation. As a form of literature works, novel requires that its translation should focus on not only faithfulness and efficiency, but, ideally, the re-creation of the original work’s style which renders special reading experience beyond word meaning. Scholars and translators worldwide have a considerable number of opinions and theories over or related to this issue of style transferring. So this thesis will, firstly, refer to some of those ideas and have a brief discussion on style and its translatability, then, on that basis, mainly summarize and explore some basic strategies and practice of novel style processing in terms of keynote, typeset, narrative, and characterization, supported by cases from the E-C translation of an excerpt from The Time Keeper.
