Warring States Period Letter is collected by Silk books collecting team of Tomb of Ma Wang Pikes according to Western Han Dynasty silk book unearthed from Tomb of Ma Wang Pikes III in the year of 1973. More than 11,000 words are recorded in the silk book with regard to lobby stories of Warring States period strategists,represented by Su Qin.According to the research from silk books collecting team of Tomb of Ma Wang Pikes, the silk book was probably formed in the late year of Emperor Gaozu of Han or Emperor Hui of Han,which is before the year of 195 BC or after. The forming time of the silk books is supposed to be the period between the late warring States period to the early western Han period. During the development of language, grammar is much more slower than phonetics and words. Therefore,the grammar of Warring States Period Letter can reflect the characteristics of ancient Chinese grammar to some extent.This thesis selects four kinds of adverbs from Warring States Period Letter as studying objects,which is degree adverbs,adverbs of time,range adverbs and negative adverbs. The author detailed analysis the usage and,grammatical features of each class of adverbs in separate chapters. In addition,it is detailed analyzed semantic pointing features of the range adverbs. In the end,the author compares and summarizes the features of the four kinds of adverbs of Warring States Period Letter from the perspectives of grammar and semantics.
