Based on the feminist perspective, the embroidery of the minorities in southwest China expresses women’s strong desire to a beautiful life. These women are not only the recorder of history, but also play the role of daughter, mother and wife in their families. In the minorities in southwest China, women are senior to men, the dermatoglyphic pattern and the color of the embroidery are full of symbols of femininity, like Mother of Butterfly, Huashu Qiuzi, Jiyu Bird and several continues geometric patterns. All these symbols of femininity are not recorded on the literature, but passed on by word from generation to generation. At present, the embroidery of the minorities in southwest China become popular once again(Both on the Internet and in our everyday life, it’s easy to find its presence) because it is colorful and beautiful, additionally, the complicated and delicate technology of these embroidery also bring extensive appreciation.
