Artistic conception has been the core category of Chinese ancient theories of poetry for long. It is a production of developed culture and of literature in the ancient China. Its existence and development should be owed to generations of scholars’ intelligences. Discussions of Artistic conception can be divided into three stages. After that, the thesis separates universal value of theory of Artistic conception into three aspects, based on professors’ analysis: the Artistic conception of images of feelings and of spirit, and clear their essences. The former one is about sense of images and imaginations. It has relevance, ductility and sense of space. And the later one is about emotional atmosphere. It has sound expressivity and combination. These conclusions above are under the view of Chinese classical poetries. They are tested to see whether they can be applicable to western lyrical literary through the using of examples from Imagist Poets and the Lakeland poetries. As proved by the examples, the two kinds of Artistic conception and their related rules apply equally in Western Lyric Poetry in England and America. In the proving process of the thesis, it also summarizes some universal rules about both kinds of Artistic conception. Finally, the thesis undertakes a study of the two things mentioned above. The study is about their relationship. As a thesis in the field of comparative literature, its creation of theories is based on the comparing between theories of poetics and Esthetics both in China and in Eastern countries. And it has a lot of text of the poetries At all times and in all countries used as augments. The research of the thesis breaks out the tradition of analysis of Artistic conception limited in the field of ancient theory of literature. And it makes the mordent form Artistic conception equals to categories of Western poetics and aesthetics. The analysis of this thesis on text reading might be a trying to spread the theory of artistic conception to the field of world literature. And it is also meaningful. In the end, this thesis The study of the thesis is helpful to universalizing the theories of Artistic conception and to spread them to Western lyrical literary so as to try the best to build theoretical system with local Chinese poetics.
