"Die Ya" is one of the "imitating works of Er Ya" which is distinctive in the Qing dynasty. This book devoted to explain the meaning of reduplicated words in the ancient books and the researching and using for reduplicated words is of great significance. But this work of high academic value is not yet fully comprehensive research.The exegetical object of "Die Ya" is the broad sense of reduplicated words, namely the reduplication of AA type, according to classification, including the situation of reduplicated words, actions of reduplicated words, feelings and appearance of reduplicated words, sound of reduplicated word, referent of reduplicate words and the appellation of reduplicated words, touched all of nature and the historical and cultural aspects. The exegesis content of "Die Ya" is including the interpretation of meaning, marking pronunciation, dialectical collation and so on. "Die Ya" is aimed at explaining the meaning of words after overlap, so it rarely involving analyzing Chinese characters and mainly take the methods of searching meanings of words and searching meanings from sounds. Searching meanings of words includes the same training, according to the teaching, image description, definition and so on. Searching meanings from sounds includes the description of cloaking, interpretation of homologous and profiled words. To get rid of it, under description of cloaking, analysis of special-shaped reduplicated words to explore the solution of homologous relationship and back reduplicated words etymological meaning. Notably, Shi Menglan used a different explanation method in interpretation of reduplicated single words and reduplicated compound word. To explore the reduplicated word of the etymological meaning, start from the etymological meaning of the single word because the meaning of reduplicated words is same or similar to single word.
