In the qing dynasty, Gaoxiang had been the most creative landscape painter. Period the landscape painting decline, he learned to the painting skill from the others into his own way. To this dark period, he brought a pure and fresh color for the history. Also, providing the information to study the development of landscape painting for us. Gaoxiang studied from Jianjiang, Shitao and other people, but the biggest influence to him was Shitao. His drawing mind that to express own thoughts and change painting ideas had been vividly reflected in his paintings. Gaoxiang had been good at drying brush in draws, also with wet pen, his painting style was elegant and very continuity, the achievement of art was huge. His first feature was expressing inner, he payed attention to conservation the life. The second feature was the height fusion of the poem,handwriting,painting and seal. Gaoxiang perfectly combined the poetry and painting that brought out the best in each other. The last feature was more garden landscape paintings. It expressed soft and natural feeling. His landscape painting features had his own characteristics,with the interesting skill of ink and the simple art style. In his paintings,we can know that his mind to the zen and the busy life. In his poem, we can see the profoundly literary. We can also know that he had to sell the paintings in order to life. It was a kind of wealth,which his art can survive in the decline landscape history. Comparing with others, it had negative evaluation.
