A Study On The Style Of Indian Cartier Dance

ABSTRACT:Originated from the prefecture of Uttar Pradesh, India, KATHAK is one of the main schools of classic dances for more than2,000years. Kathak means "The person who tells a story". Kathak is an art form that has only integrated with Hinduism and Mohammedanism in the main school of Indian classic dances, with the significant history value and art value; featuring with various kinds of feelings as its main contents, it frequently describes the creation story of Hindu mythology, legend. The performance style of Kathak has the characteristic religious culture, art binary relation, aesthetic pleasure, artistic fascination and artistic status, with three distinguishing features as its aesthetic pleasure, such as foot point skill, rapid rotation and splendidness appearance, being the magic weapons to attract audiences. The perfect combination of Kathak and Indian film has become one of the dances with the most vigor. India is viewed as one of the Four Great Ancient Civilizations. Its development history of classical dance has been proved by a history of Kathak. As a focus of inheritance and handing down from generation to generation, Indian dance has established the ancient and brilliant dance culture and kept completely up to now. Kathak and Chinese ancient dance are the oriental civilization and the oriental culture, revealed on the stage of China and India diplomatic and cultural exchange frequently. I have been engaged in performance practice of foreign dance, especial skillful at Indian ancient dance through my performance in Kathak and analysis of work to comprehensively understand and apply the performance style of Kathak. More importantly, the practical significance of the traditional dance art on how to retain and inherit and to carry forward and develop is explored through research in the history value, art value, integration and conversion of Kathak.
