The Fame Of Modern Civilization

In Chinese social environment, Chi Zijian’s literary works are reflected on the her thinking on contemporary issues. Some scholars believe that her literary creation is an integral part of the worldwide wave of the reflection on modernity, and has its seminal influence on aspects related to modern thinking in contemporary Chinese literature. Her works have pastoral characteristics, but also explore humanitarian care, human spirit which specifically presented by her concern for the human spiritual progress of modern civilization and the fate of the world. She has been dedicated to the creation of local literature, and it was because she wanted to evoke the missing beauty in this age, which existed in early cultures in human nature, not only that she was also a writer who has to be a cautious writer to look out the modernization, expose those time illnesses which due to the development of modern civilization, and save those people who posed themselves in the development of world.The whole paper is divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction which mainly introduces the origin, and meaning of Chi Zijian’s literary reflection on modern issues and the literary review of Chi Zijian from literary circle. It also discriminates modernity, modern issues, the concept of modern civilization. The second part introduces Chi Zijian’s localism, naturalism and humanism from her traditional literary standpoint. Her localism literature is a kind of watcher towards traditional Chinese culture. In the third part, she is a profound thinker of modern civilization, she expose the shortcomings of modern civilization which is the ecological disaster, countryside disaster and human disaster, and her perspectives to the development of modern civilization is a review of the drawbacks of the development of modern civilization and questions the rational world. The fourth part introduces her literary styles. These are her unique reflections on modern issues, such as sad tone, focused on the reflection and the other writers of different places modern problems presented by that sad tone, color reenchantment and religion. the last part of the full text will summarize the main points of this paper and points out the significance and lack of Chi Zijian literary reflection on contemporary issues.
