Carl august Nielsen(June 9th 1865-Octorber 3rd 1931) is widely regarded as one of history’s supreme composers of the Danish. He is also a famous conductor and a violinist. In his life, he has created a tremendous amount of music. And also, he is committed to the research and development of folk music in Denmark. Nielsenis famous for six symphonies, Three instrumental concertos and two cantatas and operas, and so on. He also established the theory of Progressive Tonality.In 1928, Nielsen has composed the Clarinet Concerto for Aage Oxenvad, the famous clarinet player of the Danish. It is the only one without Progressive Tonality in Nielsen’s large works. And what’s more, it is completed during his old age, the realm of thought is high. Apart from these, due to the complexity of the tune, the difficulties of the work is greatly increased.There are four chapters of the paper:Chapter1: To expounds his life in detail, the background of the Clarinet Concerto, and the details of Clarinetist Aage Oxenvad.Chapter2: To compare with his creative technique and his life career, the author will do careful research about the Clarinet Concerto.Chapter3: To analyze its version of history and the difficult points of playing.Since the Clarinet Concerto came out, it has been considered to be one of the classic tracks. Moreover, it is connected with Aage Oxenvad, who accepted Nielsen’s given. The author will give some useful suggestions to the clarinet players.
