Firstly, the article tries to clarify the definitions of euphemism and occupational euphemism. According to the euphemized subjects, occupational euphemism can be classified into six types:Servants; Prostitutes; Small-businessmen,The-jailers, Fishermen,Farmers,Beggars; Monks, Taoist priests; Eunuchs; Nannies. In addition, based on the thesis and method of studying euphemism, the article tries to explain the occupational euphemism’s features, reasons for usage and social functions.Secondly, language is closely related to culture. Different language reflects different culture. The development and usage of the occupational euphemism reflects unique Chinese culture. There are many cultural values and thoughts behind them. Based on the classification, the article intends to discover the cultural values and thoughts behind them, trying to make a better cultural analysis on them.As the cultural values and thoughts are changing, the article tries to do the researches on the culture connotation of today’s occupational euphemism.
