This thesis makes a study on foreign students about their Chinese learning. Through the questionnaire, we want to discuss the anxiety in the process of learning Chinese, the tolerance of ambiguity during learning process, the relationship between the anxiety and tolerance of ambiguity, and whether ambiguity tolerance will influence learners’ anxiety or not, which, in turn, will influence learners’ listening ability, Based on the above research, we hope to find some measures to help them improve the efficiency in the learning process according to their anxiety and tolerance of ambiguity.The first part mainly describes why we choose this topic and introduces the definition of some mainly words, and also introduces the anxiety, the tolerance of ambiguity research results both at home and abroad.The second part mainly introduces the research methods and research goal of this thesis.The third part explores the subjects’anxiety and tolerance of the overall situation, genders, and the situation between the high and the low group listening ability according to the valid questionnaires result which has been analyzed by related data software.The fourth part analyses the details of anxiety and the tolerance of ambiguity during the learning process. The research shows that anxiety is negatively correlated with English listening comprehension, tolerance of ambiguity is positively correlated with English listening, and the anxiety is negatively related to the tolerance of ambiguity exists. The key point is the mediation effect of anxiety in the relationship between tolerance of ambiguity and listening performance. According to students questionnaire, we can analyze which aspects are easy to lead to produce learning anxiety, which aspects produce the highest tolerance of ambiguity in listening, speaking, reading and writing, Through these specific circumstances analysis, we try to forward some suggestions to the future foreign language teaching.
