Analysis And Practice Of Contemporary Lake Stone Painting Technique

Lake rock, one important aesthetic symbol of Chinese traditional culture preferred by ancient writers, scholars and calligraphers, is an essential creation subject in Chinese traditional painting. In the contemporary, lake rock has become the object that painters are eager to describe due to its special cultural connotation. Some paintings only involve lake rock. While some painters use lake rock as the main part with modern ideas, pen and ink, they inherit and develop expression techniques of lake rock, and endow them with new meanings. The author, following the principle of theory with practice, explores color-gradation, texturing, rending, boneless method and other relatively special methods of lake rock expression techniques in contemporary paintings. Then typical painters and their paintings are selected for analysis. Last I through my own practice experiences the artistic conception of contemporary lake rock paintings.
