Research On "Taicang Yazi"

"The ten poets group of Taicang", also called "The ten poets group of Loudong", is the nucleus of the genre of Loudong. It’s members include Zhou zhao,Xu xu,Huang yujian,Gu mei,Wang kui,Wang zhuan,Wang bian,Wang shu,Wang hao and Wang yaosheng. Ten poets both are the acknowleged leader Wu meicun’s followers and intimate friends. They learn from him but not try to imitate his model. The formation of this poetic group is benefit from the compile of an anthology of poems named "The collection of pomes of the ten poets group of Taicang", by Wu meicun at the 17th year of Shunzhi age. It rightfully claimed a high status in ancient literary circles. But today’s researchers of ancient literary always overlook the important position of "The ten poets group of Taicang", they only focusd their papers exclusively on the leader Wu meicun. The sparse achievement are subjective and one-sided as yet. Most of them take "The ten poets group of Taicang" as a vassalage of Wu meicun, hold the standpoint that the poetry theory of "The ten poets group of Taicang"is completely inherit from "The anterior and posterior seven poets group"of Ming Dynasty, and have no doubts about they merely learned the poetry style of Tang Dynasty. In light of this views, they deduce a conclusion that this poetic group’s style and feature is monotonous. At the same time the member of the group are lack individual character. As a matter of fact, all these inference without adequate evidence. From the poetry of "The ten poets group of Taicang", we can almost certain that their writing have substantial content, reflect historical events vividly. Their anthologies have a sense of coherence, but still filled with personality. That, can never be simply generalized by "worship the poetry of Tang Dynasty". Ideas about the region and family significance of "The ten poets group of Taicang" deserve reconsideration.
