The goal of research is to understand how music influences the trauma victims’ feelings and emotions during the course of music trauma therapy. This study used qualitative research method, and required 8 college students to be empathy and simulate with a real trauma victim when reported their feelings and emotions in three conditions:listening to music, reading the stories from a of real case of trauma therapy, and reading the same stories while listening to the music which are actually used in the music therapy sessions. The results show that ① music has the capacities to change the subjects’ feelings and emotions on degrees of Negative-Positive dimensionality, to be actually, entraining the subjects’ feelings and emotions on a way which is from negative to positive quality;② music has the capacities to change the contents of subjects’ feelings and emotions, to be specifically, eliminating some negative feelings and emotions which caused by the traumatic stories, and catalyzing and reducing some new and positive feelings and emotions. The author claims that those results may explain why the method of Music Entrainment and Reprocessing (MER) could treat psycho-trauma effectively and quickly.
