Taoist And Taoist Medicine In The Tang Dynasty

This paper mainly focuses on the new developments of the Tang Dynasty Taoist medicine and the medical resources of Taoist medicine. Except for the introduction part, this paper is composed of three chapters.The first part is the focus of this article, including the content of the former three chaptersThe first chapter mainly reviewed the beginning of Taoism in the production is closely linked with the medicine. Famous Taoist doctors Ge Hong and Tao Hong Jing made important contributions in promoting Taoist medicine to the development of traditional Chinese medicine. Taoist medicine what changes have taken place in the Tang Dynasty, and the reasons for this changes.From the second to the fifth sections analyses of the Tang Dynasty Taoist master of medical resources from the perspective of people and material. According to the historical data we know the Taoist doctors account a large proportion in the famous doctors in the Tang Dynasty. There are many Taoist priests in the achievement of both medicine and Taoism. By combing the historical data, selecting the Taoist priests who survival times and deeds are clear, and engage in medical treatment activity. According to their medical activities can be broadly divided into three categories:the one who heal people, the one who write medical books, the one of sell or apply medicine. Some priests during medical treatment, is not limited to one method, but absorbing a variety of skills.The third chapter analyses of the Tang Dynasty Taoist master of medical resources from the perspective of material. Taoist master material resources mainly include drugs, medical knowledge, the medical prescriptions, the treatment of religion, health preserving. In terms of drugs, through picking herbs, planting herbs, storing drugs, selling and applying drugs four aspects, analysis of Taoist in possession of drugs and the role of circulation. In terms of medical knowledge, according to decoction, pulse-taking, acupuncture and moxibustion three types, analysis of achievements of Taoism medicine. Because priests generally acquire some medical knowledge, combined with some Taoist temple store a lot of medicine and medicine books, and thus Taoist temple become the carrier of spreading knowledge. At the same time, Taoist temples are quiet, and provide convenience for the people, they are the good place of the people for illness.
