The erudition fashion is integral to scholarism during Jin Dynasty. The Jin Dynasty was an era that the ideology and culture is relatively active, many erudite personages have emerged, they not only had outstanding achievements in literature, but also were proficient in many fields, like music, painting, sculpture, chess, genealogy, medicine, etc.. The paper takes Book of Jin, Jin Yangqiu and the sequel of Jin Yangqiu as primary reference material, and erudite personages and their allusions as supports, and discusses some factors affecting the erudition fashion,as well as the situation of writings in the influence of erudite fashion. The pape systematically presents scholarly situation during the Jin.The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an overview of the erudition fashion in Jin Dynasty. Since it is to explore the erudition, the first thing it defines the concept of "erudition". Secondly discusses the conversion of atmosphere that from paying attention to classics in Han Dynasty to appreciating dabbling in various books in Jin Dynasty. Starting again from the historical records, the paper statistics and lists erudite personages and their allusions, and emphasizes on the erudition fashion in Jin Dynasty.The second chapter describes the statements of writing under the condition of erudition fashion. In the period of Jin Dynasty, the content of writings is relatively complex and the subjects have many forms. According to the content, it can be divided into literature writings, handwritten copy, natural mystery writings, medicine health writings, mortuary customs and ritual writings.The third chapter elaborates the relationship between the erudition fashion and hereditary officials. This chapter explores the cultural superiority under the prominence and the intellectual’s elegant assembly under the estate economy and how they affect the erudition fashion, while lists the impact of officials like curator of imperial library and historiographer to erudite personages.The fourth chapter explores the relationship between erudition fashion and library collection in Jin Dynasty. This chapter involves the statistic research of the amount and the conversion of library collection, the amount of government’s library collection is the foundation of culture in Jin Dynasty, however, the evolution of the carrier from silk to paper facilitates literature moving down and books to be transcribed. On the other hand, based on private library, the paper lists and discusses the same personages by the two forms in appendix that contrasting the form of erudite personages with private bibliophile, and discusses their situations of private libraries and the relationship between their private libraries and erudition.The fifth chapter is still starting from the origin of erudition fashion, focus on the relationship between erudition fashion and education of Jin Dynasty. This chapter analyzes the management of official school, the Jin Dynasty implements the Imperial Academy and the Imperial College in official school in parallel-track system. The official school is no longer limited to ancient classics, sets up official calligraphy, and pays attention on aesthetics. About private schools, this chapter discusses the impact on erudition from two aspects:family education and crowd education, and states the impact of the situation of teaching on personages’ erudite statements from the aspect of their education.To sum up, the paper can both accurately realize the reason and realization of erudition fashion and provide an example to the world, according to the discussion of the relationship of erudition fashion and library collection and hereditary officials and educational system, and the study of writings under the condition of erudition fashion.
