Dragon lines are one of the ancient Chinese traditional decorative techniques,which is applied to the stelas of dragon, with diverse model and rich culture.Because the engraving ages were precise, other veins in the stela had very distinct era features.Therefor, engraving design on the top of Chi Dragon can be the firsthand data.The paper is about to research the Chi Dragon from Bei dynasty to Yuan dynasty in Guanzhong area.First of all, researching the dragon veins in different period based on the changes between integral parts and topical parts.Then,to sum up the law of its development. Secondary,to aim at analyzing the three elements about forming fixed pattern on carving dragon veins which can be advantage for exploring the origin of dragon monument.Finally,through the evolution of Dragon’s attempt to change on future generations and carved stone monument of unknown age were dating.The paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter one Introduction. A brief introduction about dragon veins stele on Guanzhong area from the Northern dynasty to Yuan dynasty.Next to analyze and arrange the predecessors’ study about the dragon veins.On this basis, put forward the significance of this study and it’s method.Chapter two:the division of dragon monument.To divide the dragon stelas’ages using archaeology from the Northern dynasty to Yuan dynasty,then to get that in different times dragon vein had different characteristics.To grasp some preliminary understanding about the dragon veins’evolution.Divided it in four parts:namely from the Beiwei dynasty to Beizhou dynasty; Beizhou Dynasty to the middle period of Tang Dynasty; Late Tang dynasty to Song dynasty, and the last period was Yuan dynasty.Chapter three:The origin of dragon stela.In Guanzhong area, the first regular veins of dragon stela was composed by intertwined dragons,Sarah pattern, Gui pattern.Intertwined dragons image was originally derived from the Guanzhong area,which carved dragon statue of the god.The evolution of this entwined dragon image carved from the first line to the relief.Therefore this entwined dragon image has become an important part of the Chi stela. The origin of the Treasure pattern can be traced back to the image of the sun and the moon.Due to the introduction of the Buddhism, Sarah took the place of the sun and moon appeared above the stela; Kyu-type was from the Han dynasty. Gradually, with the development of the Chi dragon stela, these three factors started into amalgamation,which formed the stereotype of the early Tang period.Chapter four:To judge some indistinct stelas in the aspect of era.On the basis of the research on installment, focuses on the seal character, character primer sequence to cautious punishment article s of a few stone tablets such as textual research. By analyzing the characteristics of dragon pattern, treasure grain on the tablet,then compared them to another stela in other period(including other decorative pattern and style of a certain historical stage tablet or specifics),to associated a single tablet with a particular periodjfmally to determine the are scope of the stela.Chapter five, Conclusion. Explore the Chi’s form took in shape in the beginning of the Tang dynasty in Guanzhong area, and gradually affecting the whole country.The study points out the significance of researching dragon stela from the Northern Dynasty to Yuan dynasty in Guanzhong area.
